Terms of use

1. What is on offer

Hunt VPN publishes OpenVPN configuration files that volunteers have made public, together with measurements we take ourselves. It is free, requires no account, and is provided as a convenience. There is no contract, no subscription and no service level — the site may change, break, or stop existing without notice.

2. We do not run the servers

This is the important one. Every server listed belongs to somebody else. We have no relationship with those operators, no agreement with them, and no control over what their machines do. A high score means a server answered our probes quickly and consistently; it is a statement about reachability and nothing more. What that does and does not tell you is spelled out separately.

You use these servers at your own risk, and you accept that the operator can see which destinations you connect to.

3. No warranty

Everything here is provided as is, without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that a server is available, that it is fast, that it is safe, that the measurements are correct, or that a config file will work on your device. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from using this site or anything downloaded from it.

4. What you may not do

5. Who owns what

The .ovpn files belong to the people who created and published them, and we claim nothing over them. The measurement history, the scoring, the site design and the text belong to Hunt VPN. Excerpting a figure with a link back is fine and welcome; copying the pages wholesale is not.

6. Removals

Any server can be removed at any time, for any reason. In particular, a server is delisted on request from whoever operates it, and blocked permanently when it is credibly reported as malicious. Both go through contact@huntvpn.dev — the contact page says what to include.

7. Not affiliated with OpenVPN Inc.

Hunt VPN is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to OpenVPN Inc. in any way. "OpenVPN" is their trademark and is used here only to describe the protocol and the official client the files are meant for.

8. Changes

These terms can change. The date at the top says when they last did, and the current version is always the one on this page — continuing to use the site after a change means accepting it.
